Civilization IV or SimCity 4?

I am having a terrible time deciding which one I want. Which do you prefer? I want to be able to destroy and rebuild things, I know that is possible in SimCity but not sure in Civ.

I have heard you can create weapons in Civ. Is this true?

Please just give me the good things and bad things about both games.

Sry for the long read, but Thanks if you can help!Civilization IV or SimCity 4?
I personally prefer Sim City 4, although I play both, and enjoy both. Here is the run down on both...

---SIM CITY

In sim city, you are the mayor of a small town (at first). You get a plot of land and have to begin building from almost nothing. You have complete control of you town.

Pros:

- Huge Fan Community

- Freedom

- You can destroy EVERYTHING!

- Quite fun if you enjoy the idea of a city builder

Cons:

- No combat

- No other mayors to communicate with

- Outdated Isometric Graphics

- Economy simulation might be TO realistic (hard to make a profit)

---CIVILIZATION IV

The latest PC installment in one of the most well-reviewed game series of all time, Civ 4 is a great game, but less of a city builder and more of a Country/Empire builder.

Pros:

- Better graphics

- Many other rulers who you can cooperate with or destroy!

- Very Involving combat/war simulations

- Create many cities to build your empire

Cons:

- Not much detail in building at the "city level"

- The game will end, and you will have to start over

- Keeping track of all your "units" can get confusing

To answer your specific question, you can, in a way, create weapons. In the cities you create, you can produce "units", such as a warrior, catapult, tanks, planes, boats, etc., that you use to wage war on other rulers. In this way, you capture their cities until that Civilization is wiped off the map!

Hope this helps! Remember both are great games, and it all comes down to personal preference. If you would like, try the Civilization IV demo here: http://download.cnet.com/Civilization-IV-demo/3000-7489_4-10465206.html
